Born in 1997, Hamza completed his undergraduate degree in Materials Engineering from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering (GIKI, Pakistan). In 2020, he enrolled into an international master’s program in Advanced Materials: Innovative Recycling (AMIR) with a scholarship from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). During his master’s, he won the AMIR Master’s Excellence Scholarship from University of Bordeaux for his academic excellence and later obtained the highest grade for his industrial master thesis work at Agfa in Belgium. In 2022, he completed his master’s journey and obtained a dual-master’s degree: MS Chemistry from University of Bordeaux, France and MS Material Science from Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany.
Hamza’s research interests include synthesis of nanomaterials and composites, additive manufacturing, electromagnetism, and life-cycle assessment of materials. He joined PARASOL in April 2023 and will work to develop a layer-by-layer approach for the generation of locally 3D-embedded shielding solutions for integrated chips using the printability properties exhibited by electromagnetic shielding polymer nanocomposites. He is currently hosted at the Soft Matter, Rheology, and Technology (SMaRT) research group in KU Leuven, Belgium.
